Robbie "Maddo" Maddison

Key stats

All time head-to-heads won and lost

Back home in Australia, they reverently call him the King because he won the legendary "King of the Coast" event in 2003, 2004 and 2005, or simply: "King of FMX". Way back in 2005, Maddo developed a taste for setting new world records by claiming two distance records in just one year: 221 feet (67 metres) on a 125cc bike and 246 feet (75 metres) on a 250cc Honda. However, with him focusing on FMX and winning as many titles as possible, it wasn't until New Year's Eve in 2007 that Robbie leapt into the pages of the Guinness Book Of World Records once again by jumping his Honda CR500 322 feet 7.5 inches (99 m) – more than the length of a regular football field – to shatter the previous record of 277 feet at the Rio Hotel in Las Vegas. His take-off speed was 96 mph (154 km/h), catapulting him 60 feet (19 m) above the ground.

As if that wasn't enough, Maddison is also a legend of Red Bull X-Fighters. In 2008, he finished second in the overall standings after consistent performances throughout the season. In 2009 he pushed his good friend and neighbour Nate Adams all the way before finally being forced to settle for second place at the season finale in London. The 2011 season went well for Maddison with a victory in Madrid but a crash and subsequent hand injury at X-Games meant he couldn't get back in shape for the last two tour events of the season.

Ahead of the 2012 tour, Maddison received an offer from the famous 007 James Bond movie production company to be the stunt-double for James Bond in the newest film. This was a huge opportunity and Robbie took the job, however this meant he'd have to sign a contract that prevented him from competing at any Red Bull X-Fighters events.

Being an occasional spectator throughout the past three seasons has shown Maddo how difficult it is for him to miss big events. We expect him back in typical Maddo-Style whenever he is ready and the event dates don't conflict with his busy schedule.
