The Competition Breakdown and Track Layout

What to expect for the 16th edition of the planet´s most prestigious FMX event...

Going into the 16th year of Red Bull X-Fighters at Plaza de Toros de Las Ventas in Madrid, it's clear that the planet's most prestigious FMX event and the world's most famous bullring are an all-natural pair.

However, the idea of hosting a FMX event in a solidly traditional venue seemed all kinds of crazy when the first event was planned back in 2002. Since then, the Red Bull X-Fighters action in Madrid has had a consistent influence on the growth of the sport, and as the riders have progressed, the track has had to progress with them. Like last year, the event format will  opening up field with the Novillero online qualifier, giving aspiring young FMX talents the chance to battle against the stars of the sport and make a name for themselves.

Here is overview of the event format:

The Plaza de Toros de Las Ventas in Madrid is one of the hottest venues in FMX and will host to the only round of the Red Bull X-Fighters this year. Three tunnels will allow riders to launch over the huge 35 metre centre ramp, while the track design will once again include two quarter pipes and Super-Kicker ramps for this year's event as you can see on the track layout below.
