Christian Meyer grew up in Spain, and like most of his fellow riders he started riding motorcycles at the tender age of three. His older brother Franz was already riding, so it was natural for him to follow his in his footsteps.
Following a few years racing Motocross and Supercross in the Junior Class of the Spanish Championship, Chris discovered Freestyle Motocross, which was a sideshow at many of the racing events he went to. With a championship title under his belt in the 50cc class, he began to perform small FMX tricks during some races, before hitting a proper freestyle ramp for the first time in 2007.
Ever since then, Chris and his brother Franz have trained heavily on the freestyle side of moto, and worked really hard to someday become professionals. With a second home in Argentina that has a FMX compound (including a foam-pit), Christian is well known in South and middle America due to the numerous shows and events in which he has participated throughout the past couple of years. Besides being the 2015 X-Pilots Champion, Meyer is also well known in Spain after his FMX Championship win in 2014. When Chris is not working on new tricks or traveling to Hispanic countries for events, he enjoys playing golf, skateboarding, riding BMX or playing rugby with his friends.
In 2015, the event in Greece was the first Red Bull X-Fighters event for the young Spaniard, where he finished a lowly twelfth. Rest assured though, with gnarly tricks like the California Roll and other heavy flip combos under his belt, he will impress even more fans around the globe in the future. The Greek fans loved his radical style and show skills in the marble quarry near Athens and so did the fans and judges in the Novillero Qualifier for the 2017 event. X-Chris earned enough votes from his fans for the judges selection, allowing him to be selected as the second Novillero for Red Bull X-Fighters Madrid.
